Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) method is employed to deposit microcrystalline flowers buds like SrMoO4 film onto glass substrate using SrCl2 .6H2 O and Na2 MoO4 •2H2 O as cationic and anionic precursors respectively. Structural and morphological characterization of the film were carried out by means of X-ray diffraction, FTIR spectra, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy and EDX studies, which confirms the formation of scheelite type tetragonal structure and flowers buds like microcrystalline grain growth of SrMoO4 film. The optical band gap and activation energy of the SrMoO4 film is found to be 3.6 and 1.15 eV respectively.
