The present study aims to understand the perception of rural women on vaccination and their responses to the vacci- nation appeal. It also seeks to analyze the government communication strategies for immunization. This exploratory research interviewed 20 women aged between 18 and 73, living in the Zona da Mata region in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. The participants accepted well the vaccination against Covid-19. This result mainly owes to the informa- tive role of television and the leading position assumed by some local administrations, which adapted communication strategies to suit rural people better.
