The main aim of this study was to investigating the level of awareness of local automobile artisans on the usage of protective equipment in Siwdu, Cape Coast South Metropolis, in the Central Region of Ghana. In the field of work, especially where materials used can cause harm, the necessary precaution should be adhered to. The local artisans in the automobile industry at Siwdu however do not take the necessary precautions at their workshops. Preventable accidents that ought not have occurred may happen at the shops to destroy human life and properties. The irony is that these artisans were aware of the relevance and use of protective clothing. As a result, it is recommended that master craftsmen and union of the artisans should instill in their apprentices the use of protective clothing while working. This measure would make the use of protective clothing while working part and parcel of them so that when they become masters it would easy and comfortable for them to use.
