Diabetes Mellitus in the Elderly
Abstract

Prevalence of type 2 diabetes is expected to increase gradually with prolongation life expectancy. In a study conducted in the United States, it is found that the prevalence of type 2 diabetes increased from 16% to 23% between 1995 and 2004 [1]. According to current data, in the United States, among adults over 65 years of age 22% to 33% are diagnosed with diabetes.
