Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD, TMJD) is an umbrella term covering pain and dysfunction of the muscles of mastication (the muscles that move the jaw) and the temporomandibular joints (the joints which connect the mandible to the skull. Journal of Oral Health and Dental Management is one of the leading journals in temporomandibular disorders publishing current research in the form of original research and reviews as well as interesting case-reports. Temporomandibular disorders are the dysfunction of the masticatory muscles, the temporomandibular joint and the associated muscles. Although, it is not life threatening, but it can lead to orofacial pain and mandibular movement while chewing, affecting the oral health related quality of life.
