Reproductive toxicity is a hazard associated with some chemical substances, which interfere in some way with normal reproduction; such substances are called reprotoxic. They may adversely affect sexual function and fertility in adult males and females, as well as causing developmental toxicity in the offspring. Reproductive toxicity is the condition generated by certain chemicals that interferes with the normal reproductive process in the human body. It includes the damaging effects on the sexual functioning and fertility of males and females as well as responsible for developmental toxicity in the sources. There are many chemicals that can be detected to cause reproductive toxicity. One of the well-known groups of reproductive toxicants is known as teratogens, which cause birth defects. Another group of substances includes endocrine disruptors that cause reproductive toxicity. However, there are many substances that are known to be toxic to reproduction, but do not fall into any of these categories like lead compounds. Recently, reproductive toxicity has focused its study on aspects of occupational and / or environmental exposure to hazardous chemicals; and their effects on reproduction and developmental biology.
