The term Multidisciplinary team is often utilized as if it were synonymous with interdisciplinary team, but the two are genuinely different in very consequential ways. A multidisciplinary team is composed of members from more than one discipline, so that the team can offer a more preponderant breadth of accommodations to patients. However, in a multidisciplinary team, each discipline does its own assessment, engenders its own treatment plan, implements the orchestration, evaluates progress, and refines the orchestration predicated on their own evaluation share information with each other, typically at meetings attended by all team members. There is no endeavor to engender or implement a mundane plan, albeit members may opt to utilize information obtained in the meeting to revise their own goals or intervention strategies. Multidisciplinary teams are hierarchically organized, that is, there is a designated program & who is customarily the highest ranking   professional. The designated bellwether is responsible for overseeing the program, leading meetings, resolving conflicts, allocating case load, and so on. Other team members feel responsible only for the clinical work of their discipline, and need not apportion a sense of responsibility for program function and team efficacy.
