There is growing paramountcy of the Parental Bonding Instrument in clinical practice and research on parenting and parental bonding. Since the development of this diagnostic toola number of validation studies have been done in sundry cultures. The aim of the present study was to translate the quantification into Bangla and validate in Bangladeshi culture. A total of 200 adolescents participated in the study. Exploratory factor analysis of the data from 191 participants identified a two-factor structure of the PBI with 17 items. The two factors together expounded 44.18% of the total variance. The factors showed moderate to very high internal consistency and very vigorous convergent and discriminant validity as conspicuous by their correlations with the quantifications of cognitive distortions and antisocial deportments. In line with the pristine implement we defined four types of parenting style, such as Affectionate constraint, Affectionless control, Optimal parenting, and Neglectful parenting. Parental bonding is a pertinent soothsayer that avails in understanding the parent-child relationship which plays a paramount role in the development of Theory of Mind and in organizing judgments towards the self. Subjects were 140, aged between 19 and 25, 69 of whom local Italians and 71 immigrants recruited from the Reception Centre for Asylum Seekers of Mineo consummated three self-report measures.
