Automobile  – wheeled passenger vehicle that carries its own motor. Most definitions of the term specify that automobiles are designed to run primarily on roads, to have seating for one to six people, typically have four wheels and be constructed principally for the transport of people rather than goods. Of course, the other popular name for an automobile is the car is thought to be derived from Latin word "carrus" or "carrum," which means wheeled vehicle. ... These terms originally referred to wheeled horse-drawn vehicles such as a cart, carriage or wagon. A car (or automobile) is a wheeled motor vehicle used for transportation. Most definitions of cars say that they run primarily on roads, seat one to eight people, have four tires, and mainly transport people rather than goods. The automobile can be considered to consist of five basic components : (a) The Engine or Power Plant : It is source of power. The Frame and Chassis : It supports the engine, wheels, body, braking system, steering, etc. The transmission which transmits power from the engine to the car wheels.
