Neurourology is a disorder diagnosed and treated by the Urology Division of Premier Medical Group. Neurourology focuses on disorders of the bladder related to spinal injuries and neurological disorders, more commonly referred to as neurogenic bladder. The neurologist will recommend electro diagnostic testing to measure the electrical activity of muscles and nerves. If necessary, the neurologist may also recommend a nerve biopsy, a spinal tap or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). It is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems, including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effector tissue, such as muscle. A neurologist is a medical doctor who specializes in treating diseases of the nervous system. The nervous system is made of two parts: the central and peripheral nervous system. It includes the brain and spinal cord.
