The overall prevalence of injury among building construction workers was 41.4% [95% CI: (37.8, 49.4)] in the past 1 year, where the leading five jobs related injuries reported were injury by object (36.9%), lower back pain (35.6%), falling injury (23.3%), skin disorder (20.1%), and eye problem (18.2%).

Falling from high places is the number one most common construction accident, causing almost 35% of construction injuries. Falling Debris. Tools, building materials, pieces of scaffolding, or other supplies can do serious damage if they fall from significant heights and land on a worker.There are roughly 150,000 construction site accident injuries each year according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In total, 86 workers died in 2019, a 23 percent increase over the previous year.
