Depending on the body's location, and the relationship of the larvae with the host, the parasite can cause a broad range of medical conditions. Many types of flies can cause myiasis in humans or animals, such as Oestridae, Calliphoridae and Sarcophagidae.. Myiasis usually occurs in tropical and subtropical areas. These can include countries in Central America, South America, Africa, and the Caribbean Islands.
