Health Disparities

A “health disparity” refers to a higher burden of illness, injury, disability, or mortality experienced by one group relative to another. A “health care disparity” typically refers to differences between groups in health insurance coverage, access to and use of care, and quality of care.Many providers identified health care system factors that lead to disparities, such as lacking a diverse workforce, lack of interpreters, poor access to care, time constraints, and systematic factors that lead to differences in quality of care delivered (such as differences between public and private hospitals)
