Cosmology (from the Greek κÏŒσμος, kosmos "world" and -λογία, -logia "study of") is a branch of astronomy concerned with the studies of the origin and evolution of the universe, from the Big Bang to today and on into the future. It is the scientific study of the origin, evolution, and eventual fate of the universe. Modern scientific cosmology is valuable in itself for what it reveals about the nature of the cosmos we inhabit [1]. It is a demonstration of the power of modern science to transform our understanding of who we are and where we came from.
