Catalysis plays a critical role in virtually every industry. Often it's the key to creating a completely new technology or breathing new life into an otherwise, mature technology. Additionally to the continued needs for productivity improvements, environmental drives and heightened industrial safety add a replacement aspect to the importance of catalytic innovation. Moving projects through the “technology pipeline” wont to be done by brute force–using a military of scientists and engineers. Today that luxury not exists, and industry must embrace creative approaches to leverage their resources and accelerate the event and commercialization of latest technology. This paper presents specific samples of innovation at Lummus. These examples will, once more, reinforce the purpose that catalytic innovation is clearly a crucial vehicle to continued advancement of society.
