Analytical Biochemistry
Analytical biochemistry is the identification and qualitative and quantitative analysis of different molecules taking place in a biochemical reaction. It includes the development of different tools and methods for identification, analysis and examination of physical properties of different biochemical compositions to provide better chemical information. It helps in the understanding of basic science in a variety of applications. Analytical Biochemistry is a peer-reviewed scientific journal established in 1960. It covers the field of biochemistry. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2014 impact factor of 2.219. Journal of Biochemistry & Analytical Biochemistry concentrates on the biological chemistry that are prevalent in unique chemical processes. It covers all areas of the life sciences from botany to medicine that are engaged in biochemical research. Biochemistry deals with the structures, functions and interactions of biological macromolecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates and lipids, which provide the structure of cells and perform many of the functions associated with life.
