Biography
Oluchukwu Virginia Igboenyesi obtained her bachelor?s degree in Bioengineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Nigeria in 2013. Her undergraduate research project was on the generation and analysis of biofuels from biodegradable wastes. She further advanced her studies by obtaining a master?s degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2018 from the University of Texas at Arlington where she worked on projects like electrospinning synthesis of hydrophobic cellulose acetate nanofibers for oil-spill cleanup and synthesis of MnO2 thin films for use in supercapacitors. She started her PhD degree in Chemistry at The University of Texas at Arlington in 2019 where she explores the use of superhydrophobic modified catalysts for generation of high energy density liquid fuels. Her research area includes chemistry, sustainable energy, bioanalysis, biofuels, nanomaterials synthesis and characterization, failure analysis, fuels and propellants, materials for energy, and heterogenous catalysis.
