Biography
Dr. Debashis Dutta received his B.Tech. from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, with a strong background in bioprocess design, fermentation engineering, food irradiation technology, and food biotechnology. With a creative mindset and a passion for his work, he has made significant contributions in various areas of biotechnology and bioengineering. Dr. Dutta received his M.Tech. and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi, and has demonstrated proficiency in bioprocessing. instrumentation and control, adhering to OECD principles of Good Laboratory Practices. He has also conducted research on the non-thermal processing of functional foods, microbial growth modeling, and kinetic studies. His work has involved the isolation and purification of microbial fermentation metabolites, in vitro application, minimum inhibitory concentration determination, and biochemical growth modeling in submerged fermentation. Dr. Dutta's laboratory skills are diverse, including the analysis of samples and the calibration and operation of various equipment such as Bioreactors, FPLC, MALDI-MS, HPLC, and FTIR spectroscopy. He has also employed advanced microscopic techniques like confocal microscopy, SEM, AFM, and TEM to evaluate ultra-structural changes. With a strong publication record, Dr. Dutta has authored several peer-reviewed research papers in reputable journals indexed in SCI/SCOPUS. He has also contributed to edited books and book chapters with international publications. Furthermore, he has actively participated in workshops/FDP and conferences held at prestigious institutions such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, AICTE, and IIT BHU. His dedication and expertise in the field have earned him numerous awards, including the "Young Scientist Award" and the CSIR-SRTP mentorship award., an editorial board member/reviewer/section editor in several peer-reviewed journals. In addition, Dr. Dutta has exceptional teaching skills in addition to his research contributions. having spent six years as a multifaceted lecturer. He has successfully delivered presentations to students from diverse backgrounds, leveraging his in-depth knowledge and practical experience in food biotechnology and bioprocess engineering. Dr. Dutta is known for his personable demeanor and strong work ethic, making him an invaluable asset in both research and educational environments.
