Engr. Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah, is a leading researcher, educator and Civil Engineering practitioner with 35 plus year senior/executive level diverse experience in the fields of academic leadership, teaching and research, project design and management, public connectivity and high performance team building with practicing theories for implementation in higher education across public and private sectors. He has been connected with first grade think tanks and policy makers nationally and internationally to frame dynamic strategies for implementing result driven policies across Pakistan and several other countries. He has been serving at the remote Gilgit Baltistan region as Vice Chancellor Karakoram International University since 2018, where he has focused on the socioeconomic development of the region by providing opportunities for quality higher education & research, initiating Engineering & Technology education in the region, connecting with the Governments and society for transformation of the youth of the region.

Research Interests: Actively involved in Climate related research for last 6 years with special focus on disaster management, vulnerability assessment, use on indigenous knowledge and best practices in climate adaptation, Land use and Land cover changes, Renewable Energy technologies etc. He has been undertaking numerous research projects and publications in the areas of sustainable built environment (SBE), Civil Engineering material, Construction project management and Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM).

? Completed research project as Principal Investigator on ?Developing of Construction and exploring the opportunities of Design and Build (D&B) procurement methods for public sector projects in Pakistan. ? funded by East Carolina University USA, amounting to USS 50,000 ( 2014-2017)
? Completed WWF Sponsored Research Project on ?Tourism Satellite Accounting and Evaluation of Land Use Changes in Gilgit Baltistan? Approved Cost Rs. 2.400 Million (Jan 2020).
? Completed Technology Development Fund HEC sponsored project: ?Development of Prototype for adjustable open Flow Turbine for generation of Electricity and water pumping at Hunza/Gilgit River
? Completed ?Scaling up and transferring community-managed rural water systems to urban settings, Sponsored under British Academy Urban Infrastructures of Well-Being 2019.
? Hazard Vulnerability and Risk Assessments (HVRA) of target 17 valleys and districts in GB in line with prevailing methodologies for HVRSs (Rs.3.290 Million) UNDP funded project under GLOF-2, completed as team leader from KIU.
